There are some good Pampered Chef and SL cookbooks too. I print or tear them out and put them in a folder, organized by chicken dish, beef dish, cake, pie, etc. Once I make it, if I really like it, I write it down on my spiral-bound notecards and then throw the recipe away. If I didn't care for it or it was only just edible, I throw it away. Maybe I am not a lost cause?! I love your meal planner thingy. too cute! We do the weekly meal planning thing too and I think it helps save money and keeps us eating healthy. Funny story: I made more scones this weekend and I was sore the next day!! That dough is not easy to stir. pathetic. The Bustershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04997732379617645016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3179526935017420560.post-1231149204904611972010-02-10T16:50:42.502-06:002010-02-10T16:50:42.502-06:00I use mostly online & torn-out magazine recipe...I use mostly online & torn-out magazine recipes now, but I still love to collect a few cookbooks that look pretty on my shelf. I love the Southern Living cookbooks that showcase all of their recipes from the year. I know it sounds healthy (and it is), but I've compared similar recipes from other "regular" cookbooks and the WW recipes always win. I also LOVE Cooking Light and Rachael Ray and Williams-Sonoma catalogue. My favorite online site is recipezaar.com! On every recipe, people post their comments and any changes. Its GREAT! I'm HORRIBLE at keeping organized. I have ripped out magazine pages just stacked up. I've been trying to blog and archive them to make it a little easier. And I just have a spiral notebook. I figure out about 5 meals to make a week (I don't schedule by day b/c I don't know what will sound good when I get home). Then I write down EVERYTHING that the recipe calls for. I cross off anything that I already have in the kitchen and then I re-list what's not marked off. Now, when I re-list them...I list them in order of where they are in the store. I start at the back and work my way to the front. I list each item starting with whats in the back of the store. Makes shopping SO much faster!!!! Glad you enjoy cooking too!!!Pray~and~Waithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02734551015433259935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3179526935017420560.post-91895414312519144622010-02-09T21:26:46.326-06:002010-02-09T21:26:46.326-06:00First of all, love the post. Okay, I want a dutch oven, I LOVE the song you posted, and I have a similar cookbook, although it is in a scrapbook type book, not a cookbook, so it's not as easy to take out the pages. I have to take out the actual paper pages. And that notepad is awesome. I need one. OKay I think I covered everything. Fun post! I think you'll have to slip in a Tater Tot Casserole...it wouldn't make a Martha Stewart recipe book, but still...it's a slice of Americana circa 1973. :)karahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15969862556004474580noreply@blogger.com
