Spring Fling Round Robin - Round #3

Here is the second border I added. I was scared to hardly do anything to it at all -- the dragonfly block and the first border with the reed were so fantastic, and my beginner quilting skills didn't seem adequate. So I thought and thought (and thought some more) and decided it might be best to frame out their beautiful work and then simply enhance it by adding a border with complimentary colors and shapes. I first added the skinny border using the glittery chocolate brown fabric, and then I added the turquoise batik. This was my first time buying batik fabrics -- I am a new fan. The circles also include some glittery gold fabric as well, and all of them are stitched down with gold thread. Margaret used gold in the dragonfly eyes and some stitching in the main block, and I thought that little sparkle needed to be mimicked in the border I added. I came up with the circle applique idea from the green fabric below the reeds -- it has random sized circles on it.

Today it is pretty cloudy outside, so I did my best with using the outside light for taking the pictures. If you click on the pictures to make them big, you can get a better glimpse...

What do you think?
I know what I think -- I think I'd better get a move on the next two quilts. I have one block waiting for me to add the first border and mail it out, and then I have a quilt top to assemble, quilt, bind and mail out to its recipient. No rest for the weary!
