It's a Garden Party (minus the pesky mosquitoes)

A little Garden Party loveliness will soon be headed my way! (That's "Garden Party" fabric, the newest line from Anna Maria Horner.) Now I am not normally a big floral-print-loving gal (although if it has Anthropologie written all over it, I'm a goner), but I never can seem to resist any of the yummy color palettes that clever girl comes up with, especially since they usually seem to go with many of the colors I already have in my house. I'll have you know that I showed some restraint for once, and I did not order a yard of everything, as I would have loved to do. I thought and thought and thought and then thought some more, and I came up with one of my best ideas yet (haha). Since I am a known fabric junkie, but also since I knew I just had to have some of this Anna Maria Horner goodness, and also knowing I would want to use this for yet another quilted throw for my living room (as one can never have too many of them), I came up with an easy plan. Since the first main fabric I picked is a bigger print with many colors...

...I will be using it for most of the front of the quilt, simply cutting probably a yard and a half of it and then making a border all the way around out of this little lovely...

Add some not-yet-purchased-nor-picked-out-but-hopefully-less-expensive fabric for the backing and binding, and voila! I will have a quilted throw. And I do plan on taking it to my favorite long-arm quilter to have it quilted, which means I have no excuse but to sew this one up quickly after the fabric arrives on my doorstep and rush it over to her to be quilted. Surely this could be a less-than-2-hour project for me, don't you think?

I love it when the fabric can be the main focus without having to hardly cut it up or add too much to it. The finished throw swirling around in my head is fabulous -- hopefully it will be just as swell in reality!

I love it! The top one is the one I will sew up tonight except I got the white/gold background one. The colors are fantastic.
